What is Energy Ambassadors? |
Energy ambassadors (Energy Cup) is a commitee within Eco club that partakes in an annual competition between schools throughout the SD.68 school district. Although the compition only spans throughout the period of December to February each year, our main goal is to bring awareness to the amount of energy being used up in our community .

Our actions include:
Winter shut downs - saving energy over the winter break by turning off and unplugging anything that won’t be used over the long winter break.
The water and light audits - checks washrooms for leaky taps and forgotten lights in classrooms after school to ensure that everything has been turned off, as well as monitoring how our school is doing with saving energy at the end of the day.
Elementary school presentations - we strive to spread awareness and get younger students involved in helping the
environment and helping us by participating in their own events.
Temperature control - we have the heat turned down by two degrees in the school to save more energy. During this time, we encourage students to dress warm when coming to school.
Lights off lunches - Turning lights off in all non-essential areas around the school, including individual classrooms, cafeteria, everywhere!www.sd68.bc.ca/documents/2019/10/energy-cup-winners.pdf/

" I am thrilled to announce that Dover Bay has won the energy ambassadors competition for 2020-2021! We saved the most energy in our school and had such a wonderful group to help make this a huge success even during all the changes due to Covid this year! Thank you to everyone who participated this year in the Energy Cup! " - Brianna Toop
