Nanaimo Climate Action Hub
The Nanaimo Climate Action Hub is a non-profit group focused on advancing positive climate action in Nanaimo and the surrounding areas through public support, local initiatives, and collaboration with other organizations. Along with their initiatives, the NCAH also hopes to amplify the voices of under-represented groups such as the youth and BIPOC in climate action decisions.
Their three major initiatives for: Promoting a dedicated manager to oversee and implement the city’s environmental initiatives; Adopting doughnut economics in which the needs of the people are met without straining the Earth’s capacities; and proposing budget items such as funding active pedestrian transportation infrastructure around cities.
