Mason Bees Seminar and Hike

2/29/2020

A group of girls and Mr. Depka went to a Mason Bees Seminar to learn about our busy pollinators! We're thinking of having our own colony for the Food Forest, so it was fun to find out more about them. Afterwards, our members decided to take advantage of the lovely day and took a hike on a trail!

A lovely afternoon <3

School Cleanup

2/27/2020

Another successful school cleanup! Took an hour and a half, but our school grounds are clean and healthy once again. It was a lot of fun to see so many people interested in helping out, even those who don't normally come to Eco Club activities! Thank you everyone for a lovely afternoon!

Forage Fish Survey

2/16/2020

It was a whole lot of fun collecting samples from the beach filtering the sand for forage fish eggs with you all! (These fish are the prey of salmon, and therefore an integral part of our ecosystem). Partnering with VIU for this long-term project is and will continue to be a rewarding and educational venture!
